Iran’s top judiciary official, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, has been reappointed for another term by Iran’s Supreme Leader, according to an official decree outlining priorities for the country’s judicial system.

The appointment was issued by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, who cited constitutional provisions and praised Mohseni-Ejei’s previous performance while calling for continued efforts toward judicial reform and institutional development.

In the decree, Khamenei said the new term should be guided by a set of directives previously issued by the leadership, along with additional guidance shared in June 2026, which together form what he described as a roadmap for transforming and strengthening the judiciary.

He urged coordination among judges and judicial officials to advance the effectiveness of the system and expressed hope that continued efforts would contribute to improving governance and legal administration in the country.

The statement also included religious references common in official Iranian decrees, expressing expectation that the judiciary’s work would proceed under divine guidance.

Mohseni-Ejei, a senior cleric and long-serving judicial official, has previously held multiple positions within Iran’s judicial and security institutions before assuming leadership of the judiciary.
