Iran’s foreign minister issued a stark warning to the United States on Wednesday, stating that the Islamic Republic would respond with all available means if faced with renewed aggression.

Abbas Araghchi, whose invitation to the World Economic Forum in Davos was revoked following Tehran’s violent suppression of demonstrators, made the remarks amid heightened U.S. military activity in the region. An American aircraft carrier group is moving westward from Asia toward the Middle East, while fighter jets and other assets appear to be repositioning after a recent U.S. operation in the Caribbean involving the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.

Araghchi outlined the warning in an opinion piece for The Wall Street Journal. He described the violent unrest in Iran as lasting less than 72 hours and suggested that armed protesters were responsible for the clashes.

Despite an internet blackout, footage from Iran shows security forces using live ammunition against largely unarmed demonstrators, a point that was not addressed in Araghchi’s commentary.

The statements underscore rising tensions between Tehran and Washington, as both sides signal readiness to escalate amid ongoing regional instability.
