Former US Vice President Kamala Harris has told the BBC that she could run for the White House again.

In her first interview in the UK, Kamala Harris said she would "probably" become president one day, but insisted that there would be a female president in the White House in the future.

The former vice president, who said she would run for president in the 2028 election after losing to Donald Trump in last year's election, has rejected the nomination that made her the Democratic Party's nominee for the next election.

She called his former rival Trump a "tyrant" and said his warnings about him during the campaign were accurate.

The Democratic Party, which he represents, has sought answers about why Republican Donald Trump lost the election a year ago, and much of the blame it has placed on President Joe Biden's failure to withdraw from the race sooner.

Harris spoke about her plans to return to the White House in the future, saying her grandchildren "will definitely see a female president in their lifetime."
