The Israeli Defense Forces announced the release of all 20 surviving hostages.

The hostages were released on Monday morning after both sides accepted a peace plan proposed by the US president that would end the two-year war.

President Donald Trump, who brokered a ceasefire between the two sides, described the release of the hostages as a "new beginning."

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has received the 20 hostages released from the Red Cross, and images have emerged showing some of them being reunited with their families.

Buses carrying Palestinians released from Israeli prisons under the agreement have also arrived in Ramallah, in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

"This is a great day. This is a new beginning," said Donald Trump, who is set to address the Israeli parliament before heading to Egypt.

Hamas, for its part, said it had released all the hostages alive and would hand over the bodies of 28 hostages today.

The families of the Israeli hostages are expressing their joy in various ways.

Israel will release 250 Palestinian prisoners, including 1,700 Palestinians held hostage in Gaza.
