The Middle East Monitor recalled that the 20-point peace plan previously presented by US President Donald Trump also calls for the security situation in Gaza to be monitored by an international peacekeeping force.

The United States and Israel also said they do not want the peacekeeping force to be operated by the United Nations.

According to the Trump plan, both the disarmament of Hamas and the deployment of an international peacekeeping force in Gaza are said to be issues to be discussed in the next phase of negotiations.
