Guinea, the world’s largest bauxite exporter, will host the inaugural Simandou Mining Summit on 11 November 2026, aiming to attract international investment and strengthen its role in the global mining sector, Bloomberg reported.

The summit will bring together mining companies, investors, policymakers, financial institutions, technical partners, and local stakeholders. Organisers said the forum is intended to create partnerships that convert Guinea’s mineral wealth into sustainable economic growth while promoting inclusive and environmentally responsible development.

The event positions Guinea alongside established international mining forums such as South Africa’s Mining Indaba, Canada’s PDAC conference, and the United States’ Bauxite & Alumina Conference. Bloomberg noted that the summit reflects Guinea’s broader strategy to improve regulatory and operational standards and signal its readiness to engage with global markets.
