An airstrike in the Gaza Strip killed five Palestinians, including two children, and injured around 32 others, medics said.

The attack targeted tents sheltering displaced people in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Yunis. Medical personnel at Quarry Field Hospital identified the deceased as two boys, aged eight and ten, two women aged 46 and 30, and a 36-year-old man. The wounded were receiving treatment in local hospitals.

Rescue workers said bodies were recovered from the Al-Najat camp, a sprawling tent settlement that houses hundreds of people displaced by recent conflict.

An Israeli military statement attributed the strike to a response against attacks on its forces, saying, “The Hamas terrorist organization committed a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement, in which terrorists attacked Israeli Defense Forces soldiers deployed in the Rafah area.”
