French Prime Minister Sébastien Le Corneaux has resigned less than a month after taking office.

He announced his resignation a day after his cabinet was announced.

He said the conditions for him to continue as prime minister were no longer met.

He also criticized the political parties for their unwillingness to reach an agreement.

He officially announced his resignation after an hour-long meeting with President Emmanuel Macron.

Former Prime Minister Francois Bayrou took office 26 days ago following a coup.

Political parties have criticized the new cabinet of Sebastien Le Cornoua, which is largely unchanged from the previous prime minister's cabinet.

They are also pushing for early elections and for Macron to step down.

Macron has said he will not step down before the end of his term in 2027.

"The only thing we can do now is hold elections," said Marine Le Pen, deputy leader of the far-right National Rally party.

Since 2024, French politics has been full of turmoil and tension.
