Flutterwave, a Lagos-based payments firm processed nearly $1 billion in transactions between Africa and Asia during the first half of 2025, marking a significant milestone in its global growth strategy.

The fintech company disclosed the figure in its half-year financial report, attributing the surge to partnerships with key East Asian payment providers Norafirst and Skyee. These alliances have broadened Flutterwave’s reach across critical corridors.

Operational improvements underpinned strong financial results for the period. By June, the company’s monthly margin had doubled compared to the 2024 average, reflecting tighter cost controls and enhanced efficiency.

Enterprise payments recorded around 20% year-on-year growth in total payment volume, driven by a refined focus on core sectors.

Regulatory progress featured prominently, with Flutterwave securing 20 new U.S. Money Transmitter Licenses in H1 2025, bringing its total direct licenses to 34. The company also expanded activities in Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon, and Zambia.

Flutterwave completed its first group-wide audit, aligning financial disclosures with international standards. Beyond Africa-Asia flows, the company forged several strategic partnerships. These include a collaboration with Chapter AI to enhance social commerce for SMEs across 11 African countries, an agreement with Global Remit to extend Send App remittance services to the UAE, UK, EU, and U.S., and a deal with Circle to introduce stablecoin settlements for enterprise merchants.
