
The Tigray Disaster Preparedness Commission announced that the European Union has provided 200 million birr in support of projects to improve the livelihoods of 80,000 households in three districts of the Tigray region.
The money raised from the fund will be used to improve the lives of vulnerable citizens in the three districts of the region, said Dr. Gebrehiwot Gebre Egzigar, Commissioner of the Regional Commission.
The commissioner, who indicated that the projects will be implemented for the next four years, indicated that there are programs designed to improve the livelihoods of the households through agriculture, education, and drinking water supply.
It was stated that the projects will be implemented in the districts of Hintalo, Atsbi, and Etebatesahma.
It is said that the support of the union will alleviate the problems facing the region and give hope to the needy in the woredas.
In addition, the woredas that have received this opportunity should make proper use of the support, pointing out that there are problems in many woredas in the region.
