The Ethiopians have said that the country's police are beating and abducting them without their consent.

It is worth noting that the government of the country had previously ordered Ethiopians without permits to leave the country within a short period of time, and Ethiopians without permits had repeatedly complained to the authorities about the time limit.

Ethiopians in Djibouti have reported that even Ethiopians who have obtained permits are having their permits revoked by the police.
Being beaten, asked to bring money by police officers, and arrested and tortured.

An Ethiopian resident of Djibouti who did not want to be named said, "I have a residence permit, and I am a business owner. I paid more than 100,000 birr in Ethiopia to obtain a business permit."

Despite this, they took my residence permit and beat me in a way that violated the law for the second time, and only released me after two hours.

The Ethiopians also stated that neither the Ethiopian Embassy in Djibouti nor the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to their complaints.
