Hijra Bank, Ethiopian Muslim Youth Council Sign Cooperation Agreement on Youth Finance and Digital Access

Hijra Bank and the Ethiopian Muslim Youth Council have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at cooperating on youth capacity-building, financial access and digital transition initiatives.

The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration between the two institutions in areas related to economic participation, financial inclusion and digital systems targeting young people.

The memorandum was signed by Hijra Bank chief executive officer Dawit Keno and Ethiopian Muslim Youth Council president Ustaz Haider Kedir during a ceremony attended by senior officials from both institutions.

According to the institutions, the partnership will include joint programmes focused on youth development and economic engagement. A Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) has also been established to oversee implementation of the agreement.

Speaking at the event, Dawit Keno said Hijra Bank had worked with the council in different areas since its establishment and described the latest agreement as a step toward broader institutional cooperation.

Hijra Bank board chairman Abduselam Kemal said the agreement reflects cooperation between the two institutions and referred to the role of young people in community-based institution building.

Haider Kedir, president of the Ethiopian Muslim Youth Council, said the partnership represents collaboration intended to support participation in economic and social activities.

Ustaz Abubeker Ahmed, chairman of Hijra Bank’s Sharia Advisory Committee, said the institutions should focus on implementing practical activities under the agreement.

Senior executives, board representatives and members of the Sharia advisory committee from both institutions attended the signing ceremony.
