Ethiopian Airlines has signed a new agreement with Collins Aerospace at the Dubai Airshow to install the company’s latest lie-flat business-class seating across its incoming Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, expanding a partnership that now spans multiple widebody and narrowbody fleets.

The airline’s eleven new A350-900s will be delivered with Collins’ Elevation suites, a premium product featuring privacy doors, increased personal space and integrated storage. The suites are already set to appear on Ethiopian’s recently announced Boeing 777-9 order, giving the carrier a unified long-haul business-class standard as it upgrades cabins across its fleet.

Ethiopian also plans to install Collins’ Parallel Diamond seats on fifty-six Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The lie-flat product is angled toward the window, designed to maximise space and privacy on longer narrowbody routes, and converts into a seventy-eight-inch bed.

Collins Aerospace said the products are tailored to support Ethiopian Airlines’ global brand as it continues to expand its international network. Cynthia Muklevicz, vice president for Global Airlines and Lessors, said the collaboration combines the company’s design focus with Ethiopian’s service ambitions.

Retta Melaku, Chief Operating Officer at Ethiopian Airlines, said the decision reflects the carrier’s commitment to enhancing passenger comfort and overall inflight experience. He noted that the upgraded cabins will align with the airline’s wider investment in service improvements.

The Elevation suite, built around a reverse-herringbone layout, provides additional living space without reducing cabin density, while the Parallel Diamond seat uses advanced mechanics to improve comfort and operational efficiency on single-aisle aircraft.

The agreement further positions Ethiopian Airlines to deliver a consistent premium cabin standard across both current and future fleets as it prepares for continued expansion in long-haul and regional markets.
