The Chinese-built Ethiopian Airlines Group headquarters has reached a major milestone with the topping out of its 45-meter-high main building in the capital. The project, covering more than 33,560 square meters, comprises six buildings with commercial, corporate, and customer service facilities, and is scheduled for completion in August 2026.

The topping-out ceremony was attended by Ethiopian Airlines officials and representatives from the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), the firm constructing the complex.

Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, expressed confidence that the project will meet expectations and be delivered on schedule. “We want this headquarters to be completed as soon as possible, and with the highest level of quality,” he said, highlighting the airline’s trust in CCECC.

Chen Sichang, general manager of CCECC, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to excellence. “Our work does not stop with the main structure. We will continue to uphold diligence, integrity, and perseverance throughout the project,” Chen said.

Launched on August 30, 2023, the headquarters marks a key step in Ethiopian Airlines’ expansion. During the ceremony, Mesfin invited CCECC to participate in the construction of the airline’s new mega airport near Bishoftu, about 42 kilometers east of Addis Ababa, signaling the carrier’s growing infrastructure footprint.
