It is understood that the Ethiopian government is preparing to complete the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and officially inaugurate it by the end of this year.

It is known that Egypt, which has been using most of the Nile's water exclusively, has been embroiled in a dispute with Ethiopia over the construction of the dam and its filling.

Although Ethiopia and Egypt, including Sudan, have been negotiating for years, the dam has been filled with water five times without reaching an agreement, and construction is being completed and is being prepared for inauguration.

Egypt has repeatedly asked Ethiopia to sign a binding agreement regarding the dam, but Ethiopia has refused, and negotiations have been fruitless.

Minister of Water and Energy Habtamu Itefa (PhD) said that Ethiopia has completed the construction of the dam, but its door is still open for dialogue and negotiations.

The minister pointed out that this huge dam will generate a large amount of electricity, which will provide electricity to many citizens of the country.

"So far, Ethiopia has participated in all negotiations regarding the Renaissance Dam," the minister said, adding, "We will continue to do so in the future. If there is anyone willing to negotiate, we are ready."
