The Ethiopian Pharmaceutical Supply Service has secured 82 percent of the medicines required for the next six months, with 79 percent of laboratory supplies also in stock, as the health system prepares for the coming period.

Preparations have also been made for the rainy season, with water-treatment products and water containers prepared and distributed to regional states to support efforts to prevent waterborne diseases.

The remaining essential medicines are expected to be procured soon. Gelgelo told Ahadu Radio that the existing stocks are covered by a new supply contract that took effect in July 2026.
