In a statement, the Ministry of Water and Energy accused Egypt of "intensifying its campaign against Ethiopia regarding the Nile River and the Grand Renaissance Dam."
It is recalled that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said that Egypt will "take all necessary measures" to protect its national interests and water security.
In its response, Ethiopia said Egypt continued to attempt to control the Nile River "in an illegal and domineering manner."
In a video message delivered at the 8th Water Week in Cairo, al-Sisi said Egypt's reliance on diplomacy and international institutions such as the United Nations should not be seen as a weakness.
The Ministry of Water and Energy has stated in a statement that "Ethiopia will not give up its right to use the Nile."
"Despite the increasing pressure from Ethiopia's enemies," he added, Ethiopia's progress will not be reversed."
It is worth noting that Egypt accused the Renaissance Dam of causing "floods" in Sudan a few days ago.
In its response, the Ministry of Water and Energy rejected Egypt's statement as "full of lies" and "malicious."
