The Ministry of Education has announced that students in all schools from pre-school to grade 12 are strictly prohibited from bringing mobile phones, tablets and other electronic devices that could interfere with their studies and cause distractions.

The Ministry has not provided any details about the reason behind this ban.

Although the Ethiopian Minister of Education did not disclose the reason for the ban, it is worth recalling that a few years ago, in order to prevent cheating, it was decided that students taking the 12th grade exit exam would be tested at universities.
