The Minister of Information, Yemane Gebremeskel, said on his official X page that Prosperity Party officials and their "abusers" have resumed their "random" military threats against Eritrea.

The minister said this after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed raised the issue of the Red Sea in his interview on national television and said that the mistake will be corrected soon.

Speaking about the completion of the Great Renaissance Dam, Prime Minister Abiy said in a discussion with his social affairs adviser that Ethiopia lost its sea gate, "just as the thousand-year history of the Nile has changed, it will be corrected tomorrow. It won't be too difficult."

Eritrea's Minister of Information, Yemane Gebremeskel,, accused Prosperity Party officials of distorting Eritrea's ancient, medieval and modern history.

Those who pointed out that the speech of the current Prosperity Party officials is related to the Eritrean referendum, stated that the referendum was not and could not be a situation where the country occupying Eritrea should be asked for its needs first or presented as a condition to accept the referendum.

Yemane said this, recently the Director of Foreign Relations and Military Cooperation of the Ministry of Defense of Ethiopia, Major General Teshome Gemchu, said, "Ethiopia has four compelling reasons to demand a sea gate."
