Eric Trump will travel to Tokyo next month to participate in a shareholder meeting of Metaplanet Inc., a Japanese company that has shifted from hotel operations to Bitcoin accumulation, Bloomberg reported.
The meeting, scheduled for September 1, will focus on proposals for new capital-raising methods. Trump was appointed as a strategic adviser to the company in March and is expected to join the discussions as part of his family’s broader interest in digital assets.
Metaplanet has built Bitcoin holdings worth more than $2.1 billion since adopting its crypto-first strategy last year, modeling itself on Michael Saylor’s MicroStrategy Inc. Its shares have climbed more than 700 per cent over the past 12 months on the Tokyo exchange, though the stock has pulled back sharply from a peak reached in June.
Trump’s Tokyo trip will follow his participation in the Bitcoin Asia conference in Hong Kong on August 28-29, underscoring his visible role in Metaplanet’s efforts to position itself as a leading Bitcoin treasury firm.
