Enat Bank has been recognised as the market leader for advancing women’s financial inclusion under the National Bank of Ethiopia’s 2026 Gender Scorecard, a framework that assesses financial institutions’ performance in expanding access and opportunities for women. The central bank launched the second annual Gender Scorecard for the 2025/26 fiscal year on Saturday, highlighting institutions’ progress in promoting women’s participation in financial services and the banking sector.

The scorecard evaluates financial institutions across three areas: women’s representation in leadership and the workforce, women’s access to and use of financial products, and financial innovation targeting women. The National Bank of Ethiopia introduced the Women’s Financial Inclusion Scorecard as a policy monitoring and benchmarking tool to measure progress among financial institutions, encourage peer learning and support evidence-based actions to improve women’s financial inclusion.
