Egypt plans to launch a dedicated investment fund for Egyptians living abroad next year as part of a broader effort to attract expatriate capital and simplify investment procedures through digital services, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said. Speaking at the seventh annual Egyptians Abroad Conference on Saturday, Kouchouk said the government is working with leading domestic and international investment banks to establish the fund, which will offer investment instruments with competitive returns and streamlined subscription procedures.

The planned fund forms part of a wider strategy to strengthen engagement with the Egyptian diaspora, which has become an increasingly important source of foreign currency inflows and investment. Kouchouk said the government is also developing a digital platform in partnership with the Industry Ministry and the Investment and Foreign Trade Ministry to make it easier for Egyptians abroad to establish companies and invest in the country.

He said authorities are expanding digital public services and integrating artificial intelligence into government platforms to simplify administrative procedures and improve accessibility through multilingual services. As part of the digitalisation programme, Egypt has launched a mobile application for real estate tax services and plans to introduce another application for property transactions later this month. Both services will be available to Egyptians residing overseas.

The finance minister also said the government intends to introduce virtual tax consultation services through specialised tax service centres next year, allowing Egyptians abroad to access tax support remotely.
