Teams from Egypt and the International Committee of the Red Cross were granted permission to search for the bodies of hostages who were taken hostage by Hamas and died in Gaza on September 26, 2016.

The Israeli government said the teams were allowed to search for the bodies in the "Yellow Line" area of Gaza, which is controlled by the Israeli Defense Forces.

Israeli media reported that Hamas members were allowed to enter the Israeli-occupied Gaza Strip on Sunday to help with the search, along with the International Committee of the Red Cross.

So far, Hamas has only been able to hand over the bodies of 15 of the 28 hostages held under the first phase of the ceasefire.

Under this US-brokered ceasefire, Hamas is expected to hand over the bodies of its hostages in full.

The group added that it was working closely with Egyptian authorities.

Donald Trump warned Hamas to return the bodies of the hostages "quickly" or "other countries involved in this great peace will begin to take action."

An Israeli government spokesman said an Egyptian team, along with the International Committee of the Red Cross, had been allowed to search for the bodies of the hostages.
