The Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations Council announced that it has completed preparations for the "National Peace Forum" to be held from August 30, 2025, to encourage the government to engage in credible negotiations with armed forces.

The council said this in a statement on its preparations to hold a series of peace forums in the regions, starting in Addis Ababa city, under the theme "Towards a Peaceful Ethiopia in the New Year."

The Council also stressed that, as many communities are going hungry due to the problems that have arisen, the continuation of conflicts, suffering, and poverty must be ended by learning from past mistakes.
