Delta Air Lines (DAL.N) is implementing a reduced flight schedule across multiple U.S. regions due to winter storm Fern, Reuters reported. The airline said it is actively monitoring conditions at its Atlanta hub and in the Northeast while ensuring that scheduled flights continue to operate where feasible.

On Saturday, Delta announced additional cancellations affecting East Coast hubs, including Boston and New York, alongside its Atlanta operations. The adjustments follow earlier proactive schedule changes intended to mitigate disruptions caused by ice, snow, and strong winds.

The winter storm has broadly impacted air travel in the South, East, and central United States, prompting airlines to cancel flights, warn of delays, and issue travel waivers for affected passengers. Major airports and regional facilities alike have experienced operational challenges.

The National Weather Service cautioned that freezing rain, sleet, and snow could create hazardous travel conditions, damage trees, and cause power outages across the Southeast. Farther north, heavier snowfall is expected as the system advances.

Delta confirmed that, despite the disruptions and cancellations, flights currently listed in its schedule are operating as planned. The airline continues to monitor developments closely to adjust operations in real time.
