Iran's violent suppression of nationwide protests has resulted in the deaths of at least 6,126 individuals, with many more feared to be deceased, according to activists on Tuesday.

This comes as a U.S. aircraft carrier group has arrived in the Middle East to oversee any potential American military response to the ongoing crisis.

The deployment of the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, along with its accompanying guided missile destroyers, equips the U.S. with the capability to conduct strikes against Iran.

This is particularly significant as Gulf Arab nations have indicated their desire to avoid involvement in any military action, despite the presence of American military personnel on their soil.

In the region, two Iranian-backed militias have expressed their readiness to initiate new attacks, likely in support of Iran, following U.S. President Donald Trump's threats of military intervention in response to the killing of peaceful protesters and Tehran's potential mass executions in the aftermath of the protests.

Iran has consistently warned of the potential to involve the entire Middle East in a conflict, despite the fact that its air defenses and military forces are still recovering from the war initiated by Israel in June against the nation.
