Coca-Cola’s dairy subsidiary fairlife, LLC has resumed the majority of production at its four facilities in the United States after a ransomware attack temporarily disrupted operations. The company said the cyber incident involved unauthorised access by a third party to parts of its systems and the theft of certain data, leading to a temporary suspension of production activities.

Fairlife is continuing efforts to restore affected systems and operations following the incident. Coca-Cola said retail availability of fairlife products has been largely unaffected due to existing inventory levels. The company added that product quality and safety have not been impacted.

Based on information currently available, Coca-Cola said it does not expect the incident to have a material impact on its financial condition or operating results. The ransomware attack highlights the growing cybersecurity risks facing companies that rely on digital systems across manufacturing and supply chain operations. Companies in the food and beverage sector have increasingly focused on strengthening cybersecurity measures as production networks become more connected.
