China’s Xi Jinping to Visit Egypt in Coming Days

Chinese President Xi Jinping will make an official visit to Egypt in the coming days, as Cairo and Beijing seek to deepen their strategic partnership, according to Egypt’s presidency.

Xi will meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi during the visit, with the two leaders expected to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

The talks will also cover regional and international developments, Mohamed El-Shennawy, spokesman for the Egyptian presidency, said.

The visit comes within what Cairo described as longstanding bilateral relations between Egypt and China, with the two governments maintaining a strategic partnership spanning economic, political and other areas of cooperation.
