Ariana Grande, a Grammy Award-winning singer and Academy Award-nominated actress, has been drawn into a dispute with the Trump administration after a White House immigration-themed TikTok video used her 2024 song “Bye” alongside footage of federal agents arresting and handcuffing individuals.

The singer directly addressed the post on the platform, writing: “Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense,” in a comment posted on Thursday.

White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson responded to the criticism by defending the administration’s messaging on immigration enforcement, saying: “We’ll say this one last time: what’s actually barbaric, inhumane, and heinous are the criminal illegal aliens who have injured and murdered innocent American citizens.”

Grande has previously commented on US politics, including an Instagram post last year questioning whether supporters of Donald Trump felt their lives had improved since his return to office.
