Alexandria Real Estate Secures $5 Billion Revolving Credit Facility

September 30, 2026 | By Semahegn Nigatu

Alexandria Real Estate Equities has secured a 5 billion US dollar unsecured senior revolving credit facility, giving the US real estate investment trust additional borrowing capacity through January 2032.

Citibank, N.A. acted as administrative agent for the facility, which became effective on September 24, 2026. Alexandria can extend its maturity for two six-month periods, subject to certain conditions.

The company also has the option to increase the facility by up to 1 billion US dollars, which would raise its total potential size to 6 billion US dollars.

Unlike a term loan, a revolving credit facility allows a borrower to draw funds when needed, repay them and access the available capacity again during the facility's term.

O’Melveny represented Citibank in the transaction. Its New York Real Estate Finance team was led by partners Malcolm Montgomery and Maria von Schack, together with senior counsel Lance Levine.
