President Sisi assured President Isaias Afwerki, who arrived in Cairo to attend the inauguration of a major museum in Egypt and to discuss common issues between the two countries, that his country is a supporter of Eritrea.

President Isaias Afwerki, who has visited Egypt several times in the past, is on a five-day visit at the invitation of President Al-Sisi.

According to a statement from the presidential office, during the two presidents' meeting, Al-Sisi stated that Egypt is "committed to supporting Eritrea's sovereignty and territorial integrity."

This discussion between President Al-Sisi and President Isaias took place a day after Prime Minister Abiy spoke in detail in the House of Representatives, specifically mentioning Eritrea, regarding the request for access to the sea, which Ethiopia has been raising for years.

The Prime Minister, who stated that the Red Sea issue is "legal, historical, geographical and economic" for Ethiopia, emphasized that the decision that has left Ethiopia landlocked for the past 30 years is unacceptable and must be corrected.
