Air Zimbabwe will resume direct scheduled passenger flights between Harare and London Gatwick from July 22, 2026, as the national carrier moves to restore international connectivity with one of its key markets.

The airline said the service will operate three times a week, with flights departing Harare on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays, while return flights from London Gatwick will operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The route will operate from London Gatwick’s South Terminal and is expected to strengthen links between Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom by supporting tourism, trade, investment and diaspora travel.

Air Zimbabwe said promotional fares will start from £490 for one-way London-Harare flights and US$495 for Harare-London journeys. Return fares will start from £675 and US$900, respectively, subject to availability and applicable conditions.

The Harare-London route will be operated using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft through an Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (ACMI) wet lease agreement with Spanish carrier Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas.

Under the arrangement, Plus Ultra will provide the aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance, while Air Zimbabwe will oversee ticket sales, passenger services and commercial operations.

The airline said the resumption of the route marks a significant milestone in its efforts to rebuild international operations and support Zimbabwe’s engagement with global markets.
