The Board of Directors of the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations has unanimously approved the organisation’s fiscal and financial plan for the 2026/27 (2019 EC) period, setting the framework for its operations in line with its three-year strategic direction.

The approval was reached following a review of the Chamber’s recent performance, with board members noting progress in strengthening partnerships and advocacy work, particularly through cooperation with financial institutions and development partners.

While endorsing the plan, the board also highlighted areas requiring further attention, including expanding membership, enhancing services offered to members and ensuring the regular organisation of trade fairs.

Members of the board urged the Chamber to adopt new strategies to widen its membership base, improve business support through training and capacity-building programmes and strengthen efforts to influence policy discussions affecting the private sector.

The recommendations also called for diversification of revenue sources, more consistent implementation of existing memoranda of understanding and greater use of technology to improve service delivery.

The board further stressed the importance of continuing the preparation and dissemination of policy briefs on selected business issues for relevant stakeholders.

Following deliberations, the board gave its unanimous approval to the fiscal and financial plan for the 2026/27 period.

The Addis Chamber, established in 1947, said the approved framework will guide its operations in the coming fiscal year as it seeks to deepen engagement with its members and the wider business community.

It did not include specific figures or a breakdown of the financial allocation, and the total size of the approved fiscal and financial plan for 2026/27 was not disclosed.
