Addis Ababa University Gets 4,814sqm Property From Business School Alumni

Addis Ababa University has received a nearly 4,814 square metre property in Bole from the former Business School Alumni Association under a cooperation agreement signed between the two institutions.

The property has been provided to the university as an endowment, with the university set to undertake development activities on the site while ensuring the alumni association has space for its own offices and other services.

The agreement was signed by Addis Ababa University President Samuel Kifle (PhD) and Kifle Yirga, president of the Business School Alumni Association.

Yirga said the arrangement would help create opportunities for experience-sharing and employment for new graduates, as well as provide space and resources for national studies and conferences.

The agreement is part of an effort by Addis Ababa University to strengthen engagement with its former students after the university was reorganised as an autonomous institution. The university said a number of initiatives by alumni were already under way in response to its call for former students to support their institution.

Kifle said the contribution by the Business School Alumni Association could serve as an example for other alumni groups, adding that the university would take responsibility for turning the agreement into tangible results.
