Abune Mathias Calls For An End To Conflicts And A Chance For Peace And Reconciliation

Patriarch Abune Mathias of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church called on the Holy Synod to do its part to end the conflicts in the country and provide an opportunity for peace and reconciliation.

In his message on the opening of the Holy Synod, His Holiness Abune Mathias I called for an end to the internal conflicts in the country and for a chance for peace and reconciliation.

In his message, Abune Mathias referred to the challenges faced by the church and the steps that need to be taken. He said, "The pressure that the instability in our country is having on the general morale of our people and the unity and progress of the country is not easily seen."

Abune Mathias continued his message by mentioning that the problem is mainly caused by politicians in our country, who have made the matter complicated and prolonged.

"Therefore, the assembly should make every effort to prioritize the opportunity for peace and reconciliation that will end this internecine conflict and resolve problems through dialogue and negotiation, and end fratricidal violence," he called on the members of the Holy Synod.
