Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said former Prime Minister Meles Zenawi deserves to be praised for starting the construction of the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, which is expected to be inaugurated.

Prime Minister Abiy said that Meles Zenawi, the former Prime Minister of Ethiopia, realized that the season was favorable in all sectors in 2011 and should be praised for launching the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

The Prime Minister mentioned that this should be described as a task expected of a country's leader, however, he said that he was in the construction phase of the dam as he passed away the year the dam was started

"Even so, he should be given a high price for starting them," said Prime Minister Abiy, who continued to thank Hailemariam Desalegn, who took over from him.

14 years ago, it was the current Prime Minister, Meles Zenawi, who announced that Ethiopia had started building a massive dam on the great river Nile, the first in Africa and the world's most famous one.

Prime Minister Abiy said that former Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, who started to govern the country after him, deserves thanks for his "effort to reach a certain point" since taking over the dam.
