Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said that "drones that can be destroyed are being produced in large numbers" to target "enemy groups" during military operations.

The Prime Minister announced that the National Defense Force, the Air Force, the Information Network Security Administration (INSA), and the National Intelligence and Security Service (NIS) are "producing" drones.

Prime Minister Abiy made this statement on August 4, 2025, during a visit to the drone manufacturing facility called "AEROABAY" along with economic sector officials.

Abiy said in a statement regarding his visit to the facility, "The drones we produce are not limited to a limited area; we are producing a large number of drones for commercial purposes, surveillance purposes, and operational purposes."

The Prime Minister mentioned in the first place that "AeroAbay" will produce the type of drone that they say will be destroyed.
