Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has begun reviewing the annual performance report submitted by Lt. Gen. Tadesse Worede, President of the Tigray Regional Interim Administration, as the region approaches the end of the interim mandate.

The report, presented on Tuesday morning, details the administration’s achievements, challenges and priorities over the past year. Officials said the meeting included a review and discussion of the report’s findings, including progress made and ongoing priorities in the region.

Lt. Gen. Tadesse has led the Tigray interim administration since April 2025, following the transition from his predecessor under the framework of post-conflict governance arrangements outlined in the Pretoria Agreement.

The interim administration’s term is nearing completion, placing additional focus on stability, reconstruction and federal oversight. The review comes at a critical time for post-conflict recovery in the region.

Businesses and investors engaged in reconstruction and development projects in Tigray are closely following the assessment as it will influence future governance and investment decisions.

Overall, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s review of the Tigray governance report underscores the federal government’s commitment to supporting stable and effective administration in the region during this transitional period.
